FAQ
01. I would like to hire you for a shoot, how do I go about it?
Simply email me at lauracallan@yahoo.com with the type of shoot you want (ie. live, portrait, promo, etc) and the dates you’d prefer, and I’ll see what I can do. Then we can talk about settings, themes, props and so on, and what you want out of the shoot, and set a date.
02. How much do you charge?
I typically charge £60 an hour for a shoot, but that depends on the actual time taken, if it’s likely to be a very quick or very long shoot that can be negotiable. I can also do packages if you need more than one shoot, ie you want a promo band shoot as well as a live gig. And you get all the photos, I don’t then supply you with only 10 and charge you for any further shots like some companies do.
03. Where are you based? Can you travel to me?
I am currently based in both London and Portsmouth, but can travel within reason for a shoot if so desired, but travel costs will have to be taken into consideration.
04. Will I have the copyright to my photos?
I typically retain the copyright to the photos, although you are allowed to use them for non-commercial gain (ie. display, reproduce for personal/promotional use). If you would like a shoot where you own the full copyright to the photos, that can also be arranged.
05. I want to use some of your images for my website/company/myspace, etc. Do I need your permission?
Absolutely. I own the rights to all my photos, without any creative commons license, so taking them would be a breach of that. If you would like to use any of my photographs that may be possible, just send me an email telling me what photo(s) you want and what for, and I’ll see what I can do.
06. What equipment do you use? Is it good enough?
I shoot with a full professional Canon kit, with flashgun and various Sigma and Canon lenses for close and long distance shooting. I also use top-spec imaging and editing software, including the full Premium CS3 Design Suite with my photos where necessary. So yes, it’s all much more than good enough.
